****** About I Love Native! 1.1 for 680X0 Macintosh ******
"I Love Native!" checks a Mac application and tells you if the application is written in native PowerPC code or not. This new version, 1.1p, adds some new features and fixes a bug found in the previous version.
Version 1.1 new features:
Check -- Native PowerPC code
Check -- 680X0 code
Check -- Fat Binary code (the application works on both PowerPC and 680X0 Mac)
We add another beautiful young lady to tell you if the application is for 680X0 Mac instead of the standard dialog in version 1.0 (this means that we are not forgetting the 680X0 Mac users).
Sound effects for three different results.
The bug fixed:
When a user clicks Cancel in the file selection dialog, the program sometimes checks nothing and reports it as a 680X0 application. It is fixed in this new version.
****** Checking ******
Double-clicking "I Love Native! 1.1" to launch the program, then select an application you want to check. If the application is written in native PowerPC or 680X0 code, one of two young ladies will show up and tells you the result. If it is in "Fat Binary," a "FAT" guy will show up.
Error message: if an application is not written in standard Macintosh structure, or the application's resource fork is damaged, an error dialog will show up.
****** Our Test ******
After we released version 1.0, we started writing the version 1.1 right away. During those days, we have had difficulties finding how to check the fat binary code. Although some "Smart Installers" just install appropriate code according to your machines, sometimes those applications still contain codes for both PowerPC and 680X0 Mac, and the application can just work on either of them. Finally, we found a way, and we are confident about our method. So far, we have checked over 50 native PowerPC applications including ours, and the accuracy is about 99% using I Love Native! 1.1.
****** Help ******
We still cannot find any control panel or extension that is written in native PowerPC code. If you know where to get it, please tell us, so we can check them in the next version of I Love Native!
